Our B Corp Certification Doesn’t Mean We’re Perfect.

March is B Corp Month, which means you might see a lot of companies talking about their certifications.

Lately, there's been a lot of chatter online about some brands achieving a B Corp certification, and skepticism about whether it’s deserved. That’s warranted. We encourage you to always be skeptical of any business claiming that they are sustainable.

As a business with the environment at the heart of what we do, we want to weigh in:

We’re proud that TWOOBS is a Certified B Corporation. But here’s the thing that doesn’t get said enough:

Being a Certified B Corporation doesn’t mean a company is sustainable. It doesn’t mean we’ve reached the finish line. And it defo doesn’t mean we’re flawless. What it does mean is that we’ve made a commitment to do better, and to be held accountable for it.

You have to score 80 points or more to get certified. We hit that mark (with a score of 90.4 to be exact). But the score isn’t the trophy, it’s a benchmark to set for yourself and then improve upon.

At TWOOBS, we know fashion isn’t simple. Every material, every factory, every shipment has an impact. So we don’t pretend we’ve solved it all.

Instead, we:

  • Measure our impact

  • Share what we’re learning

  • Make better policies for our team

  • Keep experimenting with ways to reduce our footprint

B Corp is just one way we keep ourselves in check on that journey.

So… if B Corp doesn’t mean perfection, why bother? Because accountability matters. It’s independently verified. It’s legally binding. And we have to recertify every three years, which forces us not to be complacent.

In short: it keeps us honest, curious, and striving to do better - not perfect.

Being a B Corp doesn’t mean we’ve arrived. It means we’ve chosen the more planet-friendly path, and we’re committed to sticking to it.

Better materials, smarter policies, smaller footprints - we’ll keep going. And yes, we’ll stumble sometimes. But that’s how progress works.

Because in the end, being committed to responsible business is a journey, not a destination.

Team TWOOBS xx
